Hi, I'm Amy. I'm glad you're here!
I enjoy working with individuals ages 10 and older, as well as couples and families. My passion lies in helping people improve their relationships with others and with themselves. I have experience supporting clients with anxiety, depression, addiction, obsessive-compulsive disorder (including scrupulosity), PTSD, grief, self-esteem concerns, infidelity, betrayal trauma, communication difficulties, and more.
I specialize in spiritual concerns, including religious trauma, spiritual abuse, mixed-faith marriages, and faith crisis, transition, and deconstruction. I also offer Christian counseling and spiritual integration for clients who would like their religious beliefs incorporated into therapy. I believe in a collaborative approach and tailor treatment to the unique needs of each client.
I am trained and certified in Brainspotting. Brainspotting is a powerful, brain-based treatment developed from EMDR. Brainspotting is highly effective for trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD, and related concerns. Brainspotting works by accessing the deeper layers of the brain where trauma and emotions are stored, allowing them to be fully processed and released. Many clients notice symptom improvement after just one session, though multiple sessions are often needed for full resolution.
I am also trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT), which is my primary therapeutic approach. EFT is rooted in attachment science and focuses on understanding and transforming emotional responses that shape how people connect with themselves and others. I also utilize Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Adlerian Therapy, and experiential approaches such sand tray and expressive arts.
I earned my Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University. I am licensed in the state of Idaho (LPC-9498) and am a National Certified Counselor through the NBCC (NCC-1728740). Prior to becoming a counselor, I worked as a junior high math teacher. Outside of work, I enjoy animals, crafting, hiking, spending time in nature, and photography. I am an Idaho native and a mother of three.
I would be honored to support you on your healing journey!
