Hi, I'm Amy. I'm glad you're here!
I work with individual clients ages 10 and older, couples, and families. I am passionate about helping people improve their relationships with others and with themselves. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, addiction, obsessive-compulsive disorder, PTSD, grief, self-esteem, infidelity, betrayal trauma, communication issues, and more. I specialize in spiritual concerns including Christian Counseling, religious scrupulosity, spiritual abuse, religious trauma, faith crisis, faith transition, and faith deconstruction. I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy and personalize treatment to the unique needs of each of client.
I am trained and certified in Brainspotting. Brainspotting was developed from EMDR and is a powerful treatment option for trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD (including scrupulosity), and more. Brainspotting is able to access the deeper layers of the brain where trauma and emotions are stored to be able to process and fully release them. Many people notice improvements in symptoms after just one session, but oftentimes multiple sessions are needed to achieve full resolution of symptoms.
I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University. I am licensed in the state of Idaho (LPC-9498) and I am a National Certified Counselor through the NBCC (NCC-1728740). Prior to pursuing a career in counseling, I was a junior high math teacher. I enjoy animals, crafting, hiking, spending time in nature, and photography. I am an Idaho native and mother of three children.
