Hi, I'm Amy. I'm glad you're here!
I enjoy working with individuals ages 10 and older, couples, and families. My passion lies in helping people improve their relationships with others and with themselves. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, addiction, obsessive-compulsive disorder, PTSD, grief, self-esteem, infidelity, betrayal trauma, communication issues, and more.
I specialize in spiritual concerns such as religious trauma, spiritual abuse, mixed-faith marriages, religious scrupulosity, and faith crisis, transition, and deconstruction. I also offer Christian Counseling and spiritual integration for clients who would like their religious beliefs incorporated into treatment. I believe in a collaborative approach to therapy and personalize treatment to the unique needs of each of client.
I am trained and certified in Brainspotting. Brainspotting was developed from EMDR and is a powerful treatment option for trauma, anxiety, depression, OCD (including scrupulosity), and more. Brainspotting is able to access the deeper layers of the brain where trauma and emotions are stored to be able to process and fully release them. Many people notice improvements in symptoms after just one session, but oftentimes multiple sessions are needed to achieve full resolution of symptoms.
I am trained in Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) and use that as my primary approach to treatment. EFT is rooted in attachment science and aims to help clients become fully aware of their emotions and the impact of those emotions on their
lives. This helps clients create deep, meaningful connections with themselves and others. I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Adlerian Therapy, and experiential approaches into treatment.
I earned my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Northwest Nazarene University. I am licensed in the state of Idaho (LPC-9498) and I am a National Certified Counselor through the NBCC (NCC-1728740). Prior to pursuing a career in counseling, I was a junior high math teacher. I enjoy animals, crafting, hiking, spending time in nature, and photography. I am an Idaho native and mother of three children.
